Earn Your Seat Launches: A New Charlotte Business Roundtable for Entrepreneurs and Leaders
Every great conversation starts with a seat at the table.
At QC Amplified, we’re excited to celebrate the launch of the very first episode of Earn Your Seat, a new Charlotte business roundtable bringing together local entrepreneurs, professionals, and community leaders for honest conversations about business, leadership, growth, and the realities of building a meaningful life.
While podcasts are everywhere today, what makes Earn Your Seat different is its focus on authentic discussion. There are no scripted talking points, no polished corporate answers, and no pretending that entrepreneurship is easy. Instead, this roundtable creates space for real conversations about the challenges, opportunities, and lessons that shape successful business owners.
The inaugural episode features Amy Watts, founder of Amy Watts Coaching and Consulting and the Reinvention Collective, alongside financial strategist Tamika Porter of Porter Financial Services and real estate professional Jennifer Ramirez. Together, they tackle a topic that is becoming increasingly relevant across the country: the rise of women entrepreneurs over 50.
But beyond the specific topic, Episode 1 reveals something even more important—the power of community-driven business conversations.
Why This Charlotte Business Roundtable Matters
Charlotte is one of the fastest-growing business communities in the country. New companies are launching every day. Professionals are leaving corporate careers to pursue entrepreneurship. Experienced leaders are reinventing themselves and building businesses around their expertise.
Yet despite all of this growth, many entrepreneurs still feel isolated.
Running a business can be lonely. Every decision feels personal. Every setback feels bigger when you’re carrying the responsibility yourself. That’s why conversations like the ones featured on Earn Your Seat are so valuable.
A Charlotte business roundtable creates an opportunity for business owners to hear from others who are facing similar challenges. It reminds entrepreneurs that they are not alone in their fears, struggles, or ambitions.
In the first episode, themes of confidence, purpose, community, and resilience emerged naturally throughout the discussion. The guests shared stories of corporate careers, layoffs, career pivots, and the courage required to build something of their own.
Those stories resonate because they are real.
Whether you’re launching your first company, growing an established business, or considering a major career transition, there is value in hearing how others navigated similar experiences.
LISTEN TO THE FIRST EPISODE
The Growing Influence of Women Entrepreneurs
One of the most compelling topics discussed in Episode 1 was the growing influence of women entrepreneurs, particularly those over 50.
The guests highlighted an important shift happening across the business landscape. More women are choosing entrepreneurship as a path to greater flexibility, financial independence, and personal fulfillment.
What stood out most was the collective message that experience matters.
Many entrepreneurs spend decades building expertise before launching their own ventures. The years spent leading teams, raising families, solving problems, and navigating life challenges become assets that can be leveraged into successful businesses.
The conversation challenged outdated assumptions about age and entrepreneurship.
Instead of viewing later stages of life as a time to slow down, the panel described it as a season of confidence, clarity, and possibility. They emphasized that entrepreneurship isn’t limited to the young or the tech-focused. It belongs to anyone willing to leverage their knowledge, serve others, and commit to continuous growth.
That message alone makes the first episode worth watching.
Building a Stronger Business Community in Charlotte
One of the recurring themes throughout the discussion was community.
Each guest spoke about the importance of relationships, networking, mentorship, and collaboration. Rather than viewing business as a competition, they described success as something that grows when people support one another.
That perspective aligns perfectly with what Charlotte’s business community is becoming.
The city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem continues to expand, creating opportunities for founders, consultants, creatives, service providers, and small business owners to connect in meaningful ways.
A Charlotte business roundtable like Earn Your Seat can serve as a bridge between those communities.
When business leaders share their experiences openly, they create opportunities for others to learn faster, avoid mistakes, and gain confidence in their own journeys.
Those conversations don’t just benefit the people at the table. They benefit everyone listening.

What Earn Your Seat Could Become
Launching the first episode is exciting, but the real opportunity lies in what comes next.
Earn Your Seat has the potential to become much more than a podcast.
It could become a platform that showcases the voices shaping Charlotte’s business community. It could become a place where emerging entrepreneurs learn from experienced leaders. It could become a trusted source for conversations that go beyond business tactics and explore the mindset, leadership, and personal growth required for long-term success.
Future episodes could explore topics such as:
- Business growth strategies
- Leadership development
- Financial planning for entrepreneurs
- Marketing and branding
- Real estate and economic trends
- Women’s leadership
- Career transitions
- Community impact
- Work-life integration
- Innovation in Charlotte’s business ecosystem
Most importantly, the show can continue highlighting the stories behind the businesses.
People connect with people.
When listeners hear authentic stories about challenges, failures, breakthroughs, and success, they gain something far more valuable than information—they gain perspective.
A Seat at the Table for Every Entrepreneur
The title Earn Your Seat carries an important message.
Success isn’t handed to anyone. Every entrepreneur, executive, and leader earns their place through persistence, courage, learning, and action.
The guests in Episode 1 demonstrated that truth through their own experiences. They shared stories of uncertainty, risk-taking, personal growth, and the determination required to build something meaningful.
Their journeys remind us that earning your seat isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up, continuing to learn, and having the confidence to contribute your voice.
As this Charlotte business roundtable continues to grow, that’s the message we hope resonates most with listeners.
No matter where you are in your business journey, there is a place for your voice, your ideas, and your experience.
The conversation is just getting started.
And we’re excited to see where Earn Your Seat goes next.
